Changes to Microsoft Partner Network

April 10th, 2011

The Microsoft Partner Network is currently undergoing a major overhaul and has streamlined its competencies to keep them more in line with the specific needs of customers.

The Certified and Gold Certified Partner statuses are being retired by the end of 2011 and a two tiered level of competency is being introduced to replace this. Microsoft Partners will then no longer be Certified or Gold Certified as a company overall and will be differentiated by the individual competencies that they have achieved. These will then be graded as either Silver for standard level or Gold for advanced levels of achievement.

The changes to the Microsoft Partner Network will make it harder and more exclusive for IT companies to achieve Gold competencies and will involve a larger financial commitment. We are already working towards our Gold competencies in preparation for the forthcoming changes to the Network.

We already hold the Desktop and Midmarket Solution Provider competencies which prove our expertise in providing support and solutions for small to medium sized businesses. We are also working towards further competencies in Server Platform and the Small Business Specialism to further increase our specialist skillset.
