Congratulations are therefore in order for Air-IT technicians Ben (Solomon), Daniel, Jake, Jamie and Kevin who have all successfully passed a range of industry accreditations.
The new certifications have allowed our support team to update their skill set in a range of latest Microsoft technologies such as server management and administration for windows and exchange servers, virtualisation with Hyper-V Server and Windows 7 operating system – and include the following:
|Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuring||The certification proves an individual’s competence across the wide range of skills necessary to configure, implement, maintain and administer Windows Server 2008 in complex computing environments for corporate networks (achieved by Ben Solomon).|
|Windows Server 2008, Server Administrator||This certification measures the competencies needed for the day-to-day management and administration of a Windows Server infrastructure in an enterprise sized environment. It proves an individual’s ability as a highly qualified server administrator with accomplished capabilities in server build and configuration, installation, management, monitoring, maintenance, data provisioning and business continuity (achieved by Daniel Conway).|
|Windows 7 Enterprise Desktop Administrator||The certification measures an individual’s ability to support the Windows 7 operating system and its applications for medium to large sized companies.It proves a thorough knowledge and ability in installing, configuring, and administering clients in a networked environment (achieved by Jake Shipley).|
|Windows Server 2008, Server Virtualisation||This certification validates the technical knowledge and skills required for working in a Windows 2008 server environment with Hyper-V virtualisation technologies. The qualification proves an individual’s expertise as a highly qualified virtualisation administrator with proven knowledge and ability in configuration and installation, management and monitoring of virtual environments, high availability and recoverability, migration and remote desktops (achieved by Kevin Birch).|
|Configuring Microsoft Exchange Server 2010||This certification validates the skills and expertise needed to administer, maintain and support Microsoft Exchange Server 2010. It proves an individual’s expertise in the configuration, installation and management of an exchange server environment for both on-premise and cloud based messaging solutions (achieved by Jamie Hissitt).|
A special congratulation is in order for Jake Shipley who has now completed his Microsoft Advanced Apprenticeship scheme and becomes a fully qualified Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP).
The apprenticeship scheme has provided Jake with a firm foundation to further build up on the skills and knowledge he has acquired throughout the programme and has enabled him to become an important and integral member of our help desk team.
