Presented by business expert and self-made millionaire Justin Preston, Britain’s Secret Shoppers is a reality TV show that aims to help British businesses boost profits and win new customers by offering great deals to savvy shoppers.
Skills were delighted to be chosen for the show last year, and filming took place between August and November 2012. During this time, the Channel 4 crew really got under the skin of the Skills business – interviewing staff, visiting the company’s offices and shops and even going on tour on their coaches. Throughout the filming period, Justin and his team of business analysts were on hand to provide feedback on the business and work with staff to develop new sales and marketing ideas.

Managing Director Nigel Skill has confirmed that the company is already reaping the benefits of Justin’s advice, with a 33% year on year increase in enquiries already reported for 2013, plus a 16% jump in passenger numbers. ‘I believe the show will demonstrate Skills is a vibrant family business that is open to new ideas moving towards our 95th year,’ says Nigel. ‘It was an experience and an eye opener to say the least.’
