James Healey, Technical Director and John Davies, New Technical Manager
As our business continues to grow, we’re working to expand our team of Service Desk and field-based technicians so we can keep offering the very best in fully managed IT support to companies in the Nottingham, Derby and Leicester areas. And John is set to help us do just that by working closely with our Technical Director, James Healey, to manage and run the technical and customer service elements of our business.
The key role of Technical Manager effectively bridges the gap between James as Director and the members of staff managing the Service Desk and field-based teams.
John will manage the responsibilities and day to day activities of both these teams, as well as providing high-level technical assistance with any client issues that require escalation. He’s also tasked with a wide range of other responsibilities, such as monitoring quality standards, motivating and developing staff, and driving improvements and changes to the Service Desk.
James Healey, Air-IT Technical Director, comments:
“It’s certainly a far-reaching role – and a challenging one, too.
John’s main priorities are to make sure we keep meeting and exceeding our clients’ expectations, making sure Service Level Agreements are met and working to strengthen our client relationships wherever possible. And of course, to keep the technical department running smoothly and supporting our team members when required.”
John certainly has the technical and management skills needed to succeed in his new role. He joins us from another local managed service provider, where he worked as Technical Manager for five years.
During this time, and in his previous technical roles, John has gained wide experience in owning and resolving complex technical issues, managing field and office-based staff, and maintaining high levels of customer service.
A fully-qualified Microsoft Certified IT Professional and Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist, John has in depth knowledge and experience of working with Microsoft server and operating systems and IT security.
In particular, he has specialist expertise and qualifications in Microsoft Hyper-V virtualisation technologies, which are widely implemented and supported by Air-IT.
Commenting on his new role, John said:
“I’m delighted to join the Air-IT team and can’t wait to get stuck into the challenges offered by the Technical Manager role. I’ll be working with some fantastic people and it’s exciting to have joined the company at a time of such rapid expansion. I’m looking forward to growing as Air-IT grows – developing my career in technical management and raising the bar for high quality IT support and industry-leading service levels.”
Like many of the Air-IT team, John is a keen sports fan so he’s sure to fit right in. However, as a Manchester United supporter – a legacy of his visiting his grandparents in Manchester in his youth – there are sure to be some lively debates between John and his Air-IT colleagues who support local teams.
Everyone at Air-IT would like to warmly welcome John on board and wish him every success in his new role as Technical Manager.
