We’re delighted to announce that 5 members of the Air-IT / MBC support team have recently achieved prestigious, industry-accredited qualifications.

Alex Cook, David Mear & Josh Turner – Remote Support Technicians

We’re proud to confirm that three of our technicians have successfully completed the next stage in their journeys to becoming MCITP accredited.

David and Josh joined Air-IT as technical apprentices in 2012 and 2011 respectively, whilst Alex moved over with the rest of the MBC team after the acquisition in May 2013. All three technicians now look after the support needs of both companies’ clients.

As part of their ongoing development, the trio have recently passed their Microsoft Windows 7 Configuring exams to become fully-fledged Microsoft Certified Technology Specialists (MCTS). The exam tested their abilities in a number of areas around installing, upgrading, deploying and migrating to Windows 7, as well as related configuration, monitoring and maintenance tasks.

All three technicians are now equipped with the very latest knowledge and skills to implement and maintain Windows 7 desktop operating systems for our customers and successfully deal with any technical problems that may arise.

The next step for Alex, David and Josh will be to gain their Windows 7, Enterprise Desktop Support Technician award before becoming fully MCITP certified.

Ben Lee – Field Engineer

Ben has just passed Part 2 of the Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices award, which means he is now a fully-qualified Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). Having achieved Part 1 earlier in the year, Ben moved on to the Part 2 course, which tested his ability to successfully install, operate and troubleshoot a medium size enterprise branch network.

Air-IT was awarded the in 2011, recognising our expertise in designing and delivering solutions using Cisco’s advanced technologies and market-leading network solutions. As part of the certification process, we had to show our commitment to meeting Cisco’s personnel and training requirements – and it’s great to see our investment paying off in the shape of continued exam success like Ben’s.

Ben also holds a variety of other IT and Microsoft-based accreditations as well as his brand new CCNA status. These include Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) and an Advanced Apprenticeship in IT and Telecoms.

Ben Curtis – Remote Support Technician

Ben is one of the newest members of our technical team, having joined us in October 2013 – and he’s already made a great impression by gaining a new qualification just weeks later.

Ben has recently passed the Microsoft Monitoring and Operating a Private Cloud with System Centre 2012 exam, a qualification that focuses on managing and implementing Microsoft’s cloud-based technologies. The exam tested Ben’s ability to build cloud-based solutions that maximise the delivery of IT services, and provide flexible IT infrastructures that can develop over time to meet a client’s changing needs.

Thanks to his new accreditation, Ben is now in a great position to offer advice and technical support to our clients on premise, cloud-based and hybrid IT infrastructures, and to help them find the best solutions that meet their current and future needs.

As cloud computing becomes increasingly important to our clients, we’ll be offering our technical team further training in this vital area to make sure they’re always fully up to speed with the latest technological developments.
