Air-IT is delighted to announce that three members of our technical team have become fully-qualified Microsoft Certified IT Professionals (MCITP) after passing their final exams with flying colours.

Technicians Josh Turner, Alex Cook and David Mear

Alex Cook, David Mear and Josh Turner all recently sat the Microsoft Windows 7, Enterprise Desktop Support Technician examination – marking the final stage in their technical apprenticeships.

On top of this success, two members of our Remote Support team have also recently passed key exams.

Ben Curtis has passed his Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuring exam, whilst Charley Clarke has attained the Windows 7 Configuring certification.

Ben’s qualification is the first milestone on his journey to becoming a Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), whilst Charley’s achievement awards him Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) status.

About the Exams

Alex, David and Josh

Passing the Windows 7, Enterprise Desktop Support Technician exam means that Alex, David and Josh have proved their ability to effectively manage and support the Windows 7 operating system and its applications for small and medium sized organisations.

Areas covered by the qualification include:

  • Identifying and resolving desktop application and networking issues by telephone, email, remote access or in person
  • Supporting Windows 7 mobile users
  • Identifying and resolving security issues

Studying for the Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuring qualification has built up Ben’s expertise in configuring and managing Windows based server environments. Ben is now even better placed to support our many clients with Windows servers, and has gained the necessary skills to lead server installation projects in the future.

Charley

The Windows 7 Configuring exam tested Charley’s abilities in installing, upgrading, deploying and migrating to a Windows 7 desktop operating system. Charley now has the skills and expertise to install and support Windows 7 systems for Air-IT clients and to resolve any technical issues that may arise with them.

A Trio of Role Promotions

To mark their status as fully-fledged technicians and the completion of their apprenticeships, Alex, David and Josh have all received promotions.

Alex is now IT & Communications Technician, David a First Line Service Desk Technician and Josh has taken on the mantle as Service Desk Dispatcher. All three will continue looking after the technical support needs of both Air-IT and MBC clients in their new roles.

Throughout their apprenticeships, our trio of newly-promoted technicians have all become valuable and integral members of the Air-IT Service Desk team. Now, as fully-qualified technicians and equipped with the very latest skills and knowledge, they’ll be able to offer our customers even better technical support and customer service in the future.

And their journey doesn’t end here. Like all our technicians, Alex, David and Josh will be continuing their training and development with further qualifications and accreditations from ITIL, Microsoft and other leading vendors such as Sophos, Apple and 3CX.

Meanwhile, Ben and Charley will continue in their current roles in the Service Desk as they work towards the next set of qualifications. This includes a range of further Microsoft Server and Operating System based accreditations as well as 3CX engineer training.
