Air-IT have been named runners-up as Top IT Service Desk of the Year and winners of the Comic Strip competition as part of IT Service Week 2016, an annual event held by the Service Desk Institute (SDI).

This year, IT Service Week took place from 3rd to 7th October.

Service desks worldwide were invited to take part and to get involved in a range of superhero themed activities, which included asking customers to vote for their Top IT Service Desk and Service Desk Superhero.

Despite missing out, we’re extremely proud of the team coming runners-up as Top IT Service Desk of the Year.

This is fantastic international recognition for our team and a credit to the service they provide.

Make Some Noise

Throughout IT Service Week, our team took part in a number of superhero events to celebrate the week and to boost team morale.

The superhero theme was a popular choice with our team too, who all have an alter-ego superhero name and a chosen character to represent their personalities.

On the last day of IT Service Week, we were extremely lucky to be visited by Smooth Radio’s East Midlands street team, who were out in the local community raising money for Global’s Make Some Noise campaign in return for cakes from Patisserie Valerie.

We were delighted to support them and were able to raise and donate more than £50 to the charity which aims to help fund smaller charities across the UK who often struggle to be heard amongst bigger mainstream causes.

Overall, the charity went on to raise more than £2.8 million across the day, breaking all of its previous records!

Comic Strip Competition Winners

As a great end to IT Service Week, we’re delighted to have been crowned winners of the Comic Strip competition for 2016.

It was great fun to bring our creative vision to life with “Air-IT vs the Evil Crypto”. Please take a look at our winning entry below, which we spun around the idea of ransomware viruses such as Cryptolocker and Zepto variations.
