Operation Christmas Child at Air-IT

A simple gesture of a small shoebox can have a big impact.

Organised and ran annually by Samaritan’s Purse, Air-IT decided to back the Operation Christmas Child campaign in the good spirit of giving back this festive period.

Paul Judge, Marketing Director at Air-IT said:

We were really keen to get behind Operation Christmas Child this year. It’s a really fantastic initiative and allows us to have a positive influence on the lives of children in less fortunate and remote areas of the world.

Staff have been extremely generous supplying goods for the shoeboxes and we really hope they make a positive difference to the children who receive them.

What went in to our Christmas Shoeboxes

Altogether, Air-IT staff were able to pack, wrap and send 8 shoeboxes, each packed to the brim with small gifts suitable for children.

The shoeboxes were specifically put together for boys and girls across three age group from ages 2-4, 5-9 and 10-14.

Items included:

  • “Wow” items – such as a doll or stuffed toy
  • School supplies – to encourage education
  • Hygiene items – to promote good health
  • Personal items – including useful personal goods such as hats, scarves, and even gadgets like wind up torches for areas where communal lighting is poor.

Every box also included branded company merchandise including notepads, pens, pencils and toy balls, and a photo of our team to add a more personal touch.

Our parcels have now been shipped overseas, and will soon be delivered to one of more than 100 countries worldwide. In total, the charity aims to reach more than 12 million children this Christmas.

With our unique postage tracking number, we’re extremely excited to find out where in the world our festive shoeboxes will land and we will be sure to keep you updated on their progress as soon as we can.
