Since exhibiting at the first event in 2016, cyber security has come to the forefront as an increasing risk and concern for businesses.
As proud Patrons of the East Midlands Chamber, we’re pleased to be supporting this year’s instalment and to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to providing best-in-class in cyber security services.
Paul Judge, Marketing Director at Air-IT comments:
We’re delighted to be working with the East Midlands Chamber as headline sponsor at this year’s Cyber Security Conference and Expo. Highly regarded in the regional business calendar, the event helps bring together local businesses and leading experts in the field of cyber security.
Along with the forthcoming changes in data protection legislation, we’re aiming to give delegates a real insight into the ever-evolving threat landscape and growth in cyber-crime. With practical advice, we’ll help delegates understand the growing risks to their business and educate them about the steps they need to take to safeguard their systems and staff.

What to expect on the day
Whatever your level of cyber knowledge, delegates will benefit from a variety of practical and informative sessions to help arm themselves against cyber criminals.
Andy Watterson, Business Crime Manager at East Midlands Chamber said:
The threat of cyber-attack grows every day, corresponding exactly with the dependence on computers in most businesses.
But the threat is not just one of disruption, it’s also the damage that can be done to corporate reputation and the huge financial penalties companies will face from next year when the EU General Data Protection Regulations come into force.
Raising awareness of cyber threats plays a critical part in preventing them. Companies are used to considering compliance, legal, fire and flood risks but have still not grasped the cyber risk.

In the wake of the recent global ransomware attack and disruption at British Airways, it’s essential that businesses take cyber security and business continuity seriously. We’re keen to help delegates learn from these examples through our keynote speech, focusing especially on the WannaCry ransomware attack, which affected businesses worldwide including the NHS.
