Server Virtualisation Nottingham

Virtualisation Solutions

If your business is experiencing ever-increasing IT costs and has too many under utilised servers, then virtualisation can help by dramatically changing the way that your IT resources are managed and deployed.

We specialise in Microsoft Hyper-V technology and have significant experience in the planning, design and implementation of virtualised server environments. Please read our case study for further information.

If used correctly server virtualisation can be a powerful way to drive down your IT costs, improve your business continuity and deliver applications with a highly efficient and scalable solution.

By reducing your total number of physical servers you will also be able to save on energy costs and allow your business to operate more efficiently.

By eliminating the old “one server, one application” model you will be able to consolidate your hardware resources, reduce your capital expenditure and on-going maintenance costs.

What is Server Virtualisation

The principle behind server virtualisation is the process of creating a live snapshot (virtual machine) of a physical server’s hardware, operating system and applications.

A virtual server platform allows you to run multiple independent virtual servers (guests) simultaneously on a single physical machine (host). Instead of having numerous smaller physical servers these are replaced by one or more larger physical servers maximising your IT resources and the investment in your hardware.

Traditionally, physical servers only utilise a small amount of their computing capacity. Server virtualisation allows specific resources (CPU, memory, disk space) to be allocated between virtual machines based on their requirements so that your hardware is fully utilised to its capacity.

Key Benefits of Server Virtualisation

Improved Business Continuity »

Improved Business Continuity and Increased Resilience
Implementing a virtual server environment improves your disaster recovery capabilities and resilience. Reduced IT Capital Expenditure »

Reduced IT Capital Expenditure
Employing fewer physical machines means your capital expenditure costs are significantly reduced due to the need for less hardware.

Reduced Hardware Maintenance Costs »

Reduced Hardware Maintenance Costs
Reducing your physical server count and consolidating your hardware allows you to save on on-going maintenance and upgrade costs.

High Availability and Rapid Deployment »

High Availability and Rapid Deployment
The nature of virtual servers allows them to be quickly set up from templates enabling the rapid deployment of new servers and applications with minimul downtime during upgrades.

Increased Hardware Utilisation »

Increased Hardware Utilisation
Running multiple virtual servers on a single physical machine allows each server to share a large pool of computing power so that each can call on large resources during peak loads utilising the full capacity of your hardware.

Reduced Energy Costs and Greener IT »
