Air-IT is proud to announce that we’ve recently become members of the prestigious Invest in Nottingham Club – a group of influential and high profile decision-makers who collaborate with the shared aim of attracting jobs, businesses and investment to the Nottingham area.
The Invest in Nottingham Club (IIN) brings together leaders from the business sector, government bodies, universities, and other sources of influence, to champion the city as the best place to get business done and attract new investment to Nottingham.
The Club currently has more than 170 members including all the major Nottingham-based companies such as Boots, Experian and Capital One, and many more smaller businesses across all industry sectors. In fact, almost the entire core of Nottingham’s professional sector is involved, including lots of great young creative businesses and high growth firms. A number of our own clients and associates are already members, including Bildurn Properties, Eden PR and Promethean Particles.
Paul Southby, Club Chairman Presenting at April’s Meeting
By working together, these businesses strive to attract new companies to Nottingham and help established ones to grow – bringing investment and jobs into the area and boosting the local economy. The Club holds regular meetings so members can share ideas and resources, and discuss how to progress development and investment opportunities that arise.
We attended our first monthly meeting at the Park Plaza Hotel on 8 March, which included presentations from Club Chairman Paul Southby, the City’s new Chief Executive Ian Curryer and Peter Richardson – the Chairman of D2N2, a Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) for Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. This provided the ideal opportunity for us to learn more about the Club, meet other new members and to find out how we can contribute.
As a Nottingham-based company, we’re fully committed to supporting our local business community and contributing to the city’s growing success as a centre of investment and innovation. As you’d expect, our main contribution will be in the technology field. We’re looking forward to finding new solutions to help businesses meet their IT infrastructure and connectivity needs as efficiently as possible, as well as benefiting the local community as a whole.
Invest in Nottingham Club April Meeting
Like all Club members, we’ll be proactively seeking opportunities to attract new business and investment to Nottingham, whilst celebrating and promoting the city as a great place to live and work. Our Managing Director, Todd McQuilkin, comments: ‘Air-IT is proud of our Nottingham heritage and we’re keen to help other businesses develop and put something back into the wider community. Joining the Invest in Nottingham Club provides an ideal platform for us to contribute and have a positive impact on the future development of our fine city.’
The Invest in Nottingham Club was delighted to welcome Air-IT on board. Director Jim Taylor described us as ‘a young dynamic, rapid growth company who are exactly what we are looking for….a great advertisement for Nottingham.’ He added that Air-IT ‘…fulfil our key criteria: they are extremely passionate about our city and more importantly are prepared to put their energy into helping our economy grow.’
We’re eager to get started with our Invest in Nottingham Club membership and make a positive contribution. In particular, we’ll be working hard to spread the word about the Club and its activities, and looking out for lively and expanding firms who might like to join. We’ll also be encouraging suitable client and partner companies to get involved and do their bit towards making Nottingham a thriving and successful community – encouraging growth and investment to the area and making the city an even greater place to live.
