The next stage in Air IT’s ambitious expansion plans has come to fruition as we announce our acquisition of Nottingham based communications provider, Managed Business Communications Ltd (MBC).
Todd McQuilkin (MD) Air IT and Simon Leadley (MD) MBC
The acquisition completed on 7th May 2013, when MBC moved into an Air IT owned, adjoining premises at Nottingham Business Park.
The acquisition means that we’ll be able to offer a complete solution for all business phone and IT support needs to companies in Nottingham, Derby, Leicester and the wider Midlands. Our clients will benefit from a fully-converged IT and telecoms solution, provided by two leading local providers who are both specialists in their fields.
Air IT’s Managing Director, Todd McQuilkin, comments:
‘We’re thrilled to have acquired MBC. They’re our long-term preferred communications partner and we’ve always enjoyed a great relationship. Our investment means we can add real value to our clients with industry-leading business telecoms packages, Broadband and connectivity products, IT services and IT support all available under one roof.
Your chosen services will be centrally managed here at the Air IT/MBC offices, so you’ll have just one point of contact for all your IT and telephony needs. If you currently use two or more suppliers for these services, bringing them all to us will make your life easier and help you stay on top of your finances.’
The products and services that MBC will provide include business phone lines and call packages, office phone systems, business mobiles, hosted VoIP, business numbers and Broadband/connectivity solutions. MBC enjoys a number of prestigious partnerships with industry-leading suppliers, including Premier Partner status with Ericsson-LG, giving clients access to excellent service standards as well as high quality products.
After the transfer, MBC will continue to trade under its own name. Former Managing Director Simon Leadley will become Sales Director for both businesses, whilst Todd will add Managing Director duties for MBC to his existing role.
Simon comments: ‘The acquisition is great news for everyone involved. After all the hard work that’s gone into getting MBC where it is today, I can’t think of a better company than Air IT to take it forward. They have the enthusiasm, resources and technical skills to move MBC on to the next level.’
The acquisition is expected to act as a catalyst for Air IT’s future growth – and we’re already planning the imminent recruitment of four new additions to our 22-strong team. Says Todd: ‘There are exciting times ahead for Air IT and MBC – so watch this space!’
