Air-IT and MBC were delighted to sponsor the ‘Guess the score’ prize draw at Nottingham Rugby’s play-off semi-final second leg match against Bedford Blues on Friday 10 May.
The joint sponsorship was a celebration of Air-IT’s recent acquisition of local business communications firm, MBC. And with an Apple iPad mini up for grabs, plus a free ICT audit on offer for everyone who entered, the prize draw soon proved extremely popular.
The prize draw was part of a wider corporate event at Meadow Lane, which saw 250 guests from local businesses enjoying a pre-match dinner and drinks after the game. Our table included a number of Air-IT and MBC team members: Managing Director Todd McQuilkin, Sales Director Simon Leadley, Technical Director James Healey and Marketing Director Paul Judge.
We were joined by several guests from long-standing client Skills Holidays – Nigel Skill, Simon Skill and Pete Hallam – and Nigel Hood from the Nottingham Post, who’ll be publishing a cover story on Air-IT in their business supplement at the end of the month.
There was a great turnout for the match, with one of the largest rugby crowds seen at Meadow Lane in recent years creating an electric atmosphere. Sadly, it wasn’t to be for the Green & Whites, who couldn’t pull back from a nine point deficit sustained in the first leg semi-final match. Despite valiant efforts and a fantastic second half performance, the final score was Nottingham Rugby 21 and Bedford Blues 23, with Nottingham finishing 12 points short of their target.
After the game, the prize draw took place – and the post-match disappointment was eased for Matthew Burrows, who was the lucky winner of our iPad mini. Matthew is Events Manager for Action Days, a Nottingham-based company that runs corporate events and team building activities.

Air-IT and MBC’s Managing Director, Todd McQuilkin, comments:
‘The prize draw was a great way to celebrate the acquisition of MBC by Air-IT and the many benefits it will bring to businesses in Nottingham and the East Midlands. We were delighted to see so many local companies entering and showing interest in our free ICT audit.’
‘As a Nottingham Rugby fan, I was naturally disappointed by the match result, but the Green & Whites put on a great show in the second half and a thoroughly enjoyable night was had by all. Everyone at Air-IT and MBC is already looking forward to supporting the team and sponsoring more events and competitions next season.’
