The word continues to spread across the East Midlands about Air-IT’s superior managed IT support services, and we’re delighted to be constantly welcoming new clients on board. It’s especially gratifying to see so many companies – both SMEs and enterprise-level firms – requesting our services as a result of positive recommendations from existing clients.
This article takes a look at five of our latest additions and how we’re managing their IT systems to help boost productivity and overall efficiency.
Based in Somercotes, Derbyshire, Amber Precast is one of the UK’s leading cast stone manufacturers. The company manufactures high quality dry cast and wet cast stone products for use in both contemporary and classical architectural designs.
Amber Precast first approached us after a former employee of an existing Air-IT support client, now working for Amber Precast, recommended our services when the company started having problems with its IT systems. In his previous role, the employee had been impressed with Air-IT’s services, so we were called in to assess the situation.
Initially, we carried out a full IT health check and upgraded the Amber Precast server to address system performance issues. The server now runs much faster, improving business efficiency and staff productivity. We then installed PacketTrap, our industry-leading remote monitoring technology, to continually monitor the company’s systems and make sure their network is always running at peak performance.
On a rolling basis, we now provide fully-managed IT support through our Support-IT package. Our most popular support option, this lets Amber Precast benefit from unlimited remote and onsite support from our dedicated Service Desk and field-based engineers, plus 24/7 system monitoring, preventive maintenance and proactive updates.
Temati is a Netherlands-based business that supplies a wide range of specialist industrial materials to customers throughout Europe and beyond. The company’s product range includes thermal and asbestos-abatement products, accessory and insulation products, and materials for chemical and ship-building projects.
Temati’s UK division, based in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, approached Air-IT after experiencing problems with their previous IT provider and existing infrastructure set-up. This situation was severely hampering company performance since remote workers only had limited access to the network and systems, preventing them from working efficiently. Office-based staff were also encountering issues accessing the internet because the majority of web-based content was blocked by the system.
In order to address the shortfalls of the current set-up Air-IT removed the existing onsite server and replaced this with a cloud-based solution, accessed via new, high-speed standalone laptops.
This solution has given staff a stable and user-friendly virtual desktop environment where they can access company data and systems, shared files and storage, and business-class email services. All this means they can work much more efficiently and enjoy trouble-free access to Temati’s systems whether they’re in the office or on the move.
TecQuipment is a Long Eaton-based firm that designs and manufactures technical teaching equipment for a variety of disciplines within mechanical, civil, electrical and structural engineering courses. Working with schools, colleges and universities around the world, this long-established company is well-known as one of the leading providers in their field.
Like Air-IT, TecQuipment is a fellow member of Erewash Partnership and their MD Simon Woods, is currently Partnership Chairman. So as you’d expect, we’ve met them many times at various events, where we’ve taken the opportunity to discuss their IT set-up and related issues. And when the time came for TecQuipment to appoint a new IT service provider, we successfully pitched for the work against several other local providers.
Air-IT’s role will be to work with TecQuipment to support their 40 plus staff and allow their own IT Manager to focus on other projects without having to worry about everyday user IT support issues. We’ll be providing the ongoing IT management, proactive monitoring and preventive maintenance the company needs to keep its systems and infrastructure healthy, and to prevent network issues impacting on the business.
For day to day IT support issues, our dedicated Service Desk will be the first port of call for TecQuipment staff, providing instant and unlimited access to our friendly team of experienced and qualified technicians.
Based in Nottingham BioCity complex, AdamsonJones is a firm of patent, design and trademark attorneys. They offer a range of intellectual property services and advice to companies in the UK, Europe and beyond. The firm’s specialist areas include engineering and design, electronics and software, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, and biotechnology.
AdamsonJones first approached Air-IT as they were looking for a new IT support provider. And after a recent visit to our premises at Nottingham Business Park, they were so impressed with the Air-IT setup and service offering that they decided to join us as a fully managed IT support client.
Air-IT has already completed a full health check of the AdamsonJones IT infrastructure and all their PCs, and we’re now in the process of collating detailed site documentation to facilitate ongoing support and future systems upgrade. We’ve also installed PacketTrap to continually monitor and manage their desktops and servers, so we can keep them running at peak performance.
Like many Air-IT clients, AdamsonJones has chosen our Support-IT package to meet their ongoing IT support requirements. This will provide them with the complete network support the company needs to keep its systems in good shape and minimise any downtime.
Going forward, we’ll be working with AdamsonJones to improve their overall systems and operational efficiency, making sure the right IT infrastructure is in place to enable the company to achieve its future business goals.
ARSigns is a well-established print and signage company with offices in Nottingham and Oakham. The company works with large and small businesses across the UK to provide a range of services including printing, vehicle graphics and wraps, office decor, commercial and retail signage, trailers, exhibition graphics and work clothing.
As a client of our sister communications division, Managed Business Communications Ltd (MBC), ARSigns found out about Air-IT and our services from a letter sent to all MBC’s clients after we acquired the company in May 2013.
ARSigns were encountering some problems with their IT systems and were seeking to outsource their IT support to a reputable firm. Like AdamsonJones, they were pleased and impressed with the Air-IT and MBC set-up, and the smooth integration of both specialist divisions.
As usual, Air-IT started out with a full IT health check before compiling detailed site documentation about their systems and infrastructure. For ongoing support, monitoring and maintenance, they’ve chosen our popular Support-IT package.
Air-IT will also be working with ARSigns to improve their IT infrastructure so it meets the company’s growing needs. A key part of this work will be looking at upgrading their current server environment to improve efficiency and provide the best platform for future growth.
