Air-IT’s communications division, MBC, has just launched a new Wireless Fibre broadband solution to bring the benefits of fibre optic connectivity to more businesses in the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire area.
The service is an ideal solution for companies based in rural locations or other areas where it can be hard to access high speed connectivity and current fixed fibre optic services.
Offering speeds of up to 20Mbps, Wireless Fibre offers a business-grade service that’s secure, resilient and cost-effective.
Installation costs are much lower than alternative solutions such as leased lines and Ethernet First Mile (EFM) and users enjoy a very low contention ratio, enabling the use of high bandwidth applications such as VoIP, video conferencing and cloud computing.
And for added resilience, clients can choose to combine Wireless Fibre with bonded ADSL, providing speeds of up to 80Mpbs plus an automatic failover solution.
As Wireless Fibre uses a fixed network of transmitters to send wireless signals, it’s only available to businesses in the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire area.
However, site to site Wireless Fibre, which allows data transfer between two office sites, is available nationwide. A cost-effective alternative to a point to point leased line, this service offers data transfer speeds of up to 100Mbps whilst allowing staff in different locations to access shared company resources.
