Golf enthusiasts from Air-IT and our communications division, MBC, had a field day on Thursday 12th June when we sponsored the Beat the Pro competition at the DNCC’s annual Nottinghamshire Golf Day.

And it was a successful afternoon all round as our very own James Healey triumphed in Beat the Pro with his first shot!
About the Golf Day
The Golf Day, held at The Nottinghamshire Golf and Country Club, saw 12 teams drawn from local businesses and their guests enjoying a beautiful sunny afternoon of golf on The Nottinghamshire’s Champion-standard Open course.
Our sponsorship deal allowed us to put up a large, branded banner at the 14th hole where Beat the Pro teed off – adding an attractive splash of colour to the course whilst promoting Air-IT and MBC’s products and services to our fellow players.

Throughout the afternoon, teams and individuals battled it out across four competitions: Beat the Pro, Nearest the Pin, Longest Drive and the team event.
As existing corporate sponsors of three tees on the Open course, not to mention a long-standing client relationship with The Nottinghamshire itself, the Air-IT and MBC players all felt comfortably at home on the course.
Mixed Results for Air-IT and MBC
Our team consisted of Managing Director Todd McQuilkin, Technical Director James Healey, Sales Director Simon Leadley and our guest, Adam McQuilkin of Device Technologies.

Sadly, we didn’t win the team event, which went to Leicester-based solicitors Howes Percival with 113 points. The Mad Hackers from Premier Same Day Direct came in second with 108 points whilst Cool & The Gang (Cool Repair Scientific and MTS Cryo Stores UK) achieved third place with 98 points.
Luckily, James made up for our disappointment in the team competition with his excellent performance in Beat the Pro. Along with his co-winner, Arien Lettinga from Cool & The Gang, James received a complimentary round of golf for four at The Nottinghamshire as a prize. Well done James!

Air-IT, MBC and DNCC
All the businesses that took part in the Nottinghamshire Golf Day are members of the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce (DNCC), which has recently swelled its ranks by merging with the Leicestershire Chamber.
Air-IT has been a DNCC member since the business was set up in 2005.

Todd McQuilkin, Managing Director comments:
‘Chamber events always offer great opportunities to forge new relationships with other businesses and the Nottinghamshire Golf Day was no exception. As well as enjoying an afternoon of golf, we also made the most of the networking opportunities on offer, making some excellent new contacts for the business.’
