Air-IT’s Managing Director, Todd McQuilkin, was delighted to represent the East Midlands as a finalist in the Entrepreneur of the Year category at the British Chambers of Commerce's (BCC) annual business Awards ceremony on Thursday 27th November.

Held at the Tower of London, these prestigious awards brought together the very best in British business to celebrate success and achievement.
Now in its 11th year, the Chamber Awards ceremony has become firmly established as a highlight of the British business calendar.
Nora Senior, President of the BCC, commented:
‘These awards are the perfect opportunity to thank British businesses, up and down the country, and across all sectors, for their contribution to our economy. I’m constantly impressed by their determination, innovation and commitment to investing in their local communities.
I have no doubt that the winners and finalists of our awards will be tomorrow’s wealth creators, and will play a vital role in driving forward the future prosperity of the UK economy.’
Todd and his fellow eight winners from the East Midlands region were amongst 80 nominees recognised by the BCC for their role in delivering growth and prosperity to their local communities and to the UK as a whole.
Over 550 people attended a glittering Awards ceremony which was hosted by Fox Sports Presenter, Georgie Thompson.

The Entrepreneur of the Year Award
Todd was put forward for the Chamber national finals after winning Entrepreneur of the Year at the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce awards in September.
Up against some tough competition from the seven other regional winners Todd, unfortunately, didn’t win of this occasion – the eventual winner was David Brown, founder of VE-Interactive, a global technology company specialising in e-commerce solutions.

Says Todd:
‘I’m hugely proud to have been part of such a high profile national awards event that celebrates the achievements of British business.
Air-IT has come a long way in the nine years since we were established and I’m very lucky to work alongside such a fantastic team. My nomination as Entrepreneur of the Year owes just as much to their knowledge, commitment and hard work as to my own personal contribution – and without them none of our success would be possible.’
Despite coming away empty-handed, it was a real privilege to join other leading companies from across the East Midlands and represent our region nationally. We had an excellent and very enjoyable evening – and hope to be back again next year!’
