Air-IT is delighted to have been awarded the government backed Cyber Essentials (CE) Certification, proving our commitment to safeguarding our systems and data, and reinforcing our capabilities as a provider of managed security services.
Our Cyber Essentials accreditation was awarded following stringent independent evaluation of our systems by APMG International, an award-winning training and consultancy firm.
Part of the Government’s strategy ‘to make the UK one of the most secure places to do business in cyberspace’ Cyber Essentials is an important tool for any business or organisation at risk of internet-borne threats.
Companies with Cyber Essentials lower the risk of cyber-attack, and offer assurance to customers that sufficient security controls are being used to successfully reduce the risk of any breach on systems and data.
APMG’s Cyber Essentials Team said:
Well done to Air-IT for achieving their Cyber Essentials certification, clearly demonstrating their commitment to taking the security of data and information seriously.
We are happy to award them their certification.

To gain Cyber Essentials, Air-IT had to pass an external assessment covering the five key elements of the programme, to prove that we understand and implement the necessary infrastructure that protects our company systems and data.
This considers all end-user devices including: PCs, laptops, mobiles, and tablets, as well as internet-connected systems such as application servers, email and web, as laid out in the National Cyber Security Strategy.
Sam Reed, Chief Technology Officer at Air-IT said:
We’re extremely pleased to achieve the Cyber Essentials certification. Displaying the Cyber Essentials badge gives our customers confidence that we have the right protection and tools to protect our systems and data.
It also shows our commitment to best practice and sets an example to others that all businesses should achieve a minimum standard of security, regardless of type. Cyber Essentials provides an ideal benchmark to measure against.
Cyber Essentials certification is now a minimum requirement for anyone bidding on Government contracts. Going through a Cyber Essentials assessment will also help companies prepare for the introduction of the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Being enforced on 25th May 2018, it is widely regarded as the most important change in data privacy for 20 years, and will make any companies and organisations breached (due to lack of appropriate protection), subject to hefty financial penalties.
