Air-IT is delighted to announce and congratulate Technical Lead, John Davies on becoming our very first Employee of the Year winner for 2016, and for gaining the most prestigious title in our Delivering Excellence staff awards programme to date.
Employee of the Year Award 2016
At the pinnacle of our Delivering Excellence staff awards system, the Employee of the Year Award is decided by an overall staff vote, recognising everyone’s view on outstanding performance.
Four candidates were shortlisted for the annual title, who gained automatic entry following success in the earlier stage of our awards programme, as Employee of the Quarter Award winners. Nominees were:
- Alex Nicol – Winner, Employee of the Quarter (Q1)
- Sean Craven – Winner, Employee of the Quarter (Q2)
- Billi Martin – Winner, Employee of the Quarter (Q3)
- John Davies – Winner, Employee of the Quarter (Q4)

Despite tough competition, John was announced and crowned the eventual winner at our recent company meeting. He received a framed certificate, and our all-new Employee of the Year trophy. He was also lucky winner of our top prize, receiving a bonus and a special bottle of wine to celebrate his win.
James Healey, Managing Director of Air-IT, presented the award and said:
I’d like to say a very big well done to John for this outstanding achievement. The Employee of the Year Award is fantastic recognition of his efforts over the last year, and is very well deserved. Our thanks go to our clients for their ongoing feedback, and to all of our staff for their continued support and dedication. Delivering Excellence Awards
Our Delivering Excellence Awards programme was initially introduced in 2014. Designed to recognise those who have excelled in their roles, and for contributing to the ongoing success of the business, the programme was later revised in 2016, to include an all-new Employee of the Year Award.
Quarterly Awards – how to qualify
To win the annual title, employees must qualify in each round of our Delivering Excellence awards. Announced quarterly, the process begins with three categories awards, as decided by management.
Winners are recognised for demonstrating the core qualities of each category award. Special emphasis is also given to recognise individuals who clearly demonstrate commitment to our four company values.
Our Employee of the Quarter Award then follows suit, and is decided by an overall staff vote.
Only the few Employee of the Quarter winners through Quarters 1, 2, 3 and 4 can progress to the finals for a chance to be voted and crowned Employee of the Year.
As an Investors in People accredited company, we believe it is ever important to recognise and reward employees, for significant contributions to the ongoing development of the company, and our employees in their roles.
