Wednesday evening saw the meeting of some of the biggest companies in the Midlands area for the Derby Telegraph Business Awards. The ceremony, which took place at Derby’s famous Roundhouse, was the 5th edition of the awards and is now highly regarded within the regional business calendar.
Featuring 15 award categories, the event aims to celebrate the successes and achievements of local businesses across a diverse range of sectors.
James Healey, Managing Director at Air-IT comments:
Being recognised for the SME Business of the Year Award is a fantastic achievement. The standard was extremely competitive, especially as our fellow nominees were all a part of the Marketing Derby Bondholder group.
It’s especially pleasing to be recognised so soon after receiving the Nottingham Post’s Excellence in Industry Award, just a fortnight ago. Both are a great testament to our team and reinforce our status as the East Midlands No.1 managed service provider.

SME Business of the Year Award
The SME Business of the Year Award recognises companies with less than 75 employees with a proven track record of success. As well as recognising businesses that are integral to the economy, the judging criteria includes prospective growth and future development opportunities.
Sponsored by the University of Derby, the category was hotly contested with competition from Frogspark and Nowcomm and was especially notable as an all Marketing Derby Bondholder final.
Second to last for our category SME Business of the Year. Should be an interesting final for @MarketingDerby with an all #Bondholder final @nowcomm @FrogsparkStudio @DerbyUni #DTBA2018 pic.twitter.com/zMrRClmY6i

The award was collected on stage by the Air-IT Directors and marked our second award win in as many weeks after being recognised as the Excellence in Industry winners at the Nottingham Post Business Awards last month.
The awards evening proved to be a superb event hosted by Olympic badminton player, Gail Emms MBE and broadcaster and comedian, Mark Dolan.

We’d also like to thank the University of Derby for being excellent hosts on the sponsors and finalists table, and for bringing our category together to celebrate the special evening.
Everyone at Air-IT had a fantastic time at the awards ceremony and are incredibly proud of our achievement.
With two new awards under our belt, we’re now very much looking forward to ensuring that the next 12 months are equally as positive as the last.

Lastly, we would like to say a very big well done to all the other winners and finalists on their achievements and congratulate Better Energy who were recognised as overall Company of the Year.
