The Air IT team was delighted to take part in a week of magical-themed celebrations and to be named winners of Fantastic Friday, as part of IT Service Week 2018.

IT Service Week 2018

IT Service Week is a week-long event held by the Service Desk Institute (SDI) to celebrate and promote service desks globally.

Every year, the SDI selects a new exciting theme – with this year’s being magic – and invites service desk teams from around the world to join in with the fun.

After recently achieving the prestigious 3-Star SDI certification, we couldn’t wait to celebrate our success with an action-packed week of magical activities.

 

An enchanting week of fun

The week kicked off with Magic Monday, when we were challenged to put our “imagic-nations” to the test and transform our service desk into a magical kingdom.

The Air IT Wizards got straight to work, decorating the office with letters from Hogwarts, Azkaban posters, and our very own platform nine and three quarters – even Tech Tom couldn’t resist getting involved!

 

Magic Monday was followed by everyone’s favourite day of the week: Treat Tuesday!

The team baked a delicious array of goods for a bake sale – from Harry’s birthday cake to magic star biscuits and glitter brownies – with the money made going towards our Macmillan Coffee Morning fund.

 

Next it was time for Wizard Wednesday – a fancy dress competition that saw Ryan the Fairy Dinosaur, Professor Paige Merlin Dumbledore, Aiden the Magic Star and Lord Dan Voldemort battle it out to become Air IT’s Best Dressed.

After a company-wide vote, Ryan the Fairy Dinosaur was crowned as our fancy dress victor!

On Thoughtful Thursday, we took to Twitter to share all of the thoughtful things our team do for one another.

From saying “thank you” for the help on a big project to arranging team social events, we’re always using our peer recognition system to spread the appreciation, which contributes towards our quarterly Great People Awards.

 

Fantastic Friday Champions

The week came to an end with Fantastic Friday, when we were asked to share all of the fantastic things we had been up to over the recent weeks.

After raising over £700 for charity in the previous two weeks alone, we were quick to shout about all the great things we’d been up to.

Ending our week on a high, we are delighted to have been named as the Fantastic Friday winners, thanks to our charity fundraising, great feedback from happy clients, and excellent customer satisfaction scores.

 

We had a brilliant time taking part in IT Service Week 2018. The event is a fantastic opportunity for the whole company to get involved and really show off all the great things we’ve been doing, as well as bringing together and celebrating service desks from all over the world.

Congratulations Edge Hill University!

After we were crowned the winners of Top Support Team of Year in IT Service Week 2017, we would like to say a huge congratulations to Edge Hill University as we hand over the title to our worthy successors.
