The end of life date for Microsoft Office 2010 was the 13th October 2020 - a rallying call for businesses to make the move to Office 365.

Microsoft 2010 is no longer supported - switch to Office 365

In 2019, we saw the end of life for Windows Server 2008 and Microsoft Windows 7. This required businesses to upgrade in order to protect their systems and data and stay up to date. With Microsoft Office 2010 reaching end of life, that necessary upgrade is a move to Office 365.

Businesses depend highly on the Microsoft Office suite, and it’s a product that has grown and developed to meet the changing needs of personal and commercial users. That gradual evolution goes unnoticed by many, but it is integral to your experience, productivity and security. What happens when Office 2010 reaches end of life?

After 13th October 2020, all support for Office 2010 ceased. The impact of this could potentially expose your IT to serious and harmful security risks.

Microsoft no longer provides technical support, bug fixes, or security fixes for any Office 2010 vulnerabilities that may develop. This includes security updates that help to protect your systems and team from harmful viruses, spyware and other malicious software.

You’ll no longer receive Office 2010 software updates from Microsoft Update. There will also be no further updates to support content, and most online help content will be retired.

Lastly, you won’t be able to download Office 2010 from the Microsoft website. This lack of availability truly calls time on its relevance within any aspirational business.
