Now in their 29th year, the Awards are widely recognised as one of the highlights of the regional business calendar and were attended by over 450 people.

Despite being pipped to the post for the second year running, we’re immensely proud to have been selected as a finalist for these prestigious awards which celebrate the success of Nottingham business.

Todd McQuilkin, Managing Director of Air-IT comments:

Naturally we’d have been delighted to win but you have to consider the outstanding quality of our fellow contestants. Being shortlisted as one of just three finalists, in one of the most popular and sought after categories, was a real honour in itself.

Coming runner up is a major achievement and recognition of our continued growth, success and the hard work and dedication of our team.

Celebrating Nottingham business

The Awards Ceremony saw many of the Nottingham business community’s best known names come together to enjoy a Gala Dinner before watching the winners announced for each of the 13 categories.

The event was hosted by television presenter Paul Ross and ITV weather presenter Emma Jesson. After dinner entertainment was provided by comedian Kevin Orkian, who appeared on Britain’s got talent in 2010.

Before winners were announced a short video was shown for each of the 3 finalists. The Small Business of the Year Award was the second to last category, so the Air-IT table waited in anticipation for the results.

You can watch the Air-IT video below, but watch out for our new staff member in the boardroom:

Sadly, it wasn’t to be our year, and Hairven were announced winners with fellow runners-up Cherry Professional.

We’d like to congratulate Hairven on their victory and to thank New College Nottingham who sponsored the Small Business of the year category.

We’d also like to congratulate our other fellow finalists and winners across all 13 categories with special congratulations to Benoy who were crowned Nottingham Company of the Year.

Todd adds:

Despite coming away empty handed we had a fantastic and enjoyable evening. We were delighted to be a part of the celebration of Nottingham’s best in business – with winners and finalists alike all helping to boost the local economy and making the City a thriving place to do business.
