Air-IT will be running to raise awareness and funds for Nottingham Hospitals Charity, with help from our friends at AdamsonJones who are part of our jointly named team – AdamsonJones & Air-IT.
Together, we’ve already raised over £1,500 for the locally based charity whilst training hard and making the most of every opportunity by welcoming donations online at our team fundraising page.
Competing at gold standard with AdamsonJones
AdamsonJones are calling upon members of their management team to help us cover distances of 13.1 miles and 1.5 miles including: Simon Cooper, Managing Director; Rachel Biggin, Marketing Manager; and Chris MacDonald, Patent Attorney, who were all part of the winning ‘Team AJ’ in the Nottingham Post Corporate Relay Challenge in 2013.
They’ll be joined by Air-IT technical and back-office staff including:
- James Healey – Technical Director
- Ben Lee – Field Engineer
- Anxhela Agaci – Business Administration Assistant
- Sean Craven – Technical Apprentice
- Alex Cook – Account Manager
Our main priority is to have fun and do our charity proud, but I’d be lying if I said we’re not competitive. As a team, we’ve been training hard and aiming for personal bests. We’re hoping it’s enough to put us up there with the fastest teams, but we won’t know that until the day.
Whatever happens we’re pleased to be taking part and giving back to the local community with Nottingham Hospitals Charity.
The event will demand endurance and pace as the team head past some of Nottingham’s most iconic landmarks starting from the Victoria embankment along the River Trent, past Nottingham Castle, the University and Wollaton Park which all feature on this years brand new 13.1 mile half marathon route.
After the race, teams will be reunited at the specially created race village where individual times will be used to score and decide the overall quickest and winning corporate challenge team.
Supporting Nottingham Hospitals Charity
The charity helps enhance and support NHS patient services locally at the Queens medical Centre (QMC), Nottingham City Hospital and Ropewalk House.
This includes the provision of imporved facilities, specialist equipment, medical research and staff development programmes across the three sites.
You can find out more about the Helipad Appeal for QMC by watching their campaign video below.
Off to a running start and raising the stakes…
We’re pleased to report that the team at Air-IT has already hit their initial fundraising target of £1,000 in advance of race day on Sunday 27th September.
So there’s now little left to do but train hard. Except our staff love nothing more than a challenge!
That’s why they’re upping the ante by attempting to double their fundraising for a total of £2K raised before the half marathon hits Nottingham this month.
If you’d like to make a donation, you can do so by visiting our page below.
Good luck team AdamsonJones & Air-IT!
We’d also like to say thanks to everyone who’s supported and sponsored us so far and to wish all other entrants – including the Air-IT Service Desk team who are running to support headline charity, Cancer Research UK, the very best of luck.
