Air IT is delighted to have raised £150 in support of Nottingham Children’s Hospital’s “Grant a Christmas Wish” Appeal.

Following a company-wide vote to select our charity, we’ve been busy fundraising for Nottingham Children’s Hospital over the festive period.

After last year’s success, we decided to double the jumper joy this time round by taking part in Christmas Jumper Day across both Thursday 20th and Friday 21st December. Employees from all departments joined in with the fundraising to give something back this festive season.

Things got a little competitive when more than half of the company took part in our “Guess the number of sweets in the jar” game.

There were 248 sweets in the jar in total (can you believe it?!). Business Executive, Rebecca, took home the delicious prize after guessing the closest with 247 – and was delighted to continue her winning sweep when she was also crowned Employee of the Year in our end-of-year celebrations on the same day.

As well as hosting our Great People Awards, we also exchanged Secret Santa gifts and even received a special visit from Mr Clause himself!

Our festive-themed sweepstake was won by Service Delivery Manager, Paige Smith, whose lucky ginger bread card was pulled from the hat. Paige generously donated two-thirds of the sweepstake winnings to our charity funds.

The generosity didn’t stop there – Comms Engineer, Tony, also donated £50 he had recently been awarded as part of our employee reward scheme to the cause.

The Nottingham Children’s Hospital “Grant a Christmas Wish” Appeal

Nottingham Children’s Hospital is a registered charity that raises money for the Nottingham University Hospital NHS Trust.

Through the Grant a Christmas Wish appeal, the charity worked with Play Specialists at the hospital to create a wish list of gifts that will bring some festive joy to children admitted to hospital.

By raising £150, we’ve funded two days out, such as a day at a theme park or museum, for young patients who can only leave the hospital for a short period of time.

We are so pleased the whole team at Air IT supported our Grant a Wish Appeal. Together you have given sick children at Nottingham Children’s Hospital a reason to smile this Christmas. Thank you.

Giving back to the local community

We’re proud to have supported a variety of fantastic charities, teams and clubs over the last year. We’ve run through mud and water, baked (and eaten!) a plenty, and cheered on our favourite teams – and we can’t wait to do it all over again in 2019.

I couldn’t be prouder of the Air IT team for all their incredible efforts fundraising for a variety of charities this year. It’s always fantastic to see everyone come together and have a bit of fun to raise money for a great cause, especially at Christmas. We’ve certainly ended 2018 on a high, and I can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store!
