IT security is of great importance to us. We have a duty to our staff and our members to keep any data on our systems safe. When we began discussions with Air IT , we were uncertain of whether outsourcing our IT support was a viable option. First and foremost, it requires a great deal of trust, but we were also unsure if an external IT support provider could be as integrated as we would require for achieving our goals. Air IT’s reputation precedes it. The team was able to lay our concerns to rest and make many great improvements to our IT infrastructure. Thanks to them, we are Cyber Essentials certified and have a comprehensive understanding of, and adherence to, the GDPR. As such, our members have absolute confidence in our ability to keep their information secure.

How we helped
We helped this National Governing Body to become Cyber Essentials certified, helping them to adhere to the GDPR and safeguarding legislation. To achieve this, we assessed and enhanced the cybersecurity provision of its IT infrastructure and implemented an upgrade to Office 365.
Air IT was approached by Archery GB to discuss the IT security implications of adhering to the GDPR. This had followed on from the organisation’s attendance at one of our GDPR workshops.
Simultaneously, its existing in-house IT manager was looking to leave the organisation and Archery GB was considering its options for its ongoing IT support.
Air IT’s services had been recommended to Archery GB by other National Governing Bodies who praised our strong knowledge of data protection and IT security. With these recommendations, and the advice we had given on the GDPR, Archery GB decided to outsource its IT requirements, selecting us as IT support provider.
We began with a comprehensive assessment of its IT security, as the client was looking to achieve Cyber Essentials certification. Working alongside the team at Archery GB, we were able to help them proceed with their aspirations for their IT infrastructure. This included the implementation of a digital strategy which would allow them to make better use of their IT systems and the investment made in Microsoft Office 365.
Today Air IT continue to provide our Managed IT Support and IT Security Service for Archery GB and its 37 users. By implementing our Managed Security Service, we continue to ensure that any weaknesses or potential threats to the IT infrastructure are handled proactively.
Going forward, we continue to help them maximise their use of Office 365 and utilise technologies such as SharePoint Online, allowing them to securely store and access files in the cloud.
